Community Engagement Coordinator for Tribal Communities

We are looking for a community leader in Tribal Nations and Indigenous-led organizations. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with community members and the ability to strategically engage the community to identify a vast array of environmental justice concerns.

As a community engagement coordinator, you will work actively in your community, playing a pivotal role in bridging the community to the resources offered by the HEJC. This position will support Tribal Nations, Indigenous-led community-based organizations, and organizations championing tribal and Indigenous communities across EPA Region 7 (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska).


Community Engagement Coordinator – KC Metro

We are looking for a community leader in the KC Metro. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with community members and the ability to strategically engage the community to identify various environmental justice concerns.

As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will work with community-based organizations championing environmental justice projects across Kansas City. You will build meaningful relationships with community members and coordinate community engagement events in collaboration with these community organizations. Additionally, you will connect and align a network of organizations working towards similar environmental justice goals.

This is a part-time role, requiring approximately 20 hours per week. This arrangement allows you to apply and enhance your community outreach and environmental justice advocacy skills, while also providing flexibility for other commitments.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about environmental and energy justice issues in their community to serve on our Accountability Board. This role is critical to the success of our work. Accountability board members will:

⚖️ Provide insight into our engagement with disadvantaged, rural, remote, tribal, and minoritized language communities.

⚖️ Represent communities most impacted by environmental injustices and reflect the diversity of our region.

⚖️ Be provided an honorarium as compensation for their contributions.
