
K-State’s Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) is offering free, confidential sustainability assistance to industry and businesses in or near Environmental Justice (EJ) areas in Kansas as part of their Pollution Prevention Grant: Environmental Justice in Communities. “Environmental justice” means the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of income, race, color, national origin, Tribal affiliation, or disability, in environmental decision-making. Our goal is to help businesses reduce their environmental footprint, save money, and promote an equitable and resilient environment in Kansas.
PPI has helped participating organizations save more than $23 million, along with reducing CO2 emissions, hazardous materials, solid waste and water.
Our projects include:

- Reducing hazardous chemicals consumption
- Compressed air leak audits
- Innovative ways and new technologies to reduce waste at the source
